LaTiendaUSA , a provider of high-end home products from the Dominican Republic, is proud to present a collection of original design and custom copper lighting fixtures. The original designs are by world renowned metal artist Jose I. Morales and are handcrafted in the Dominican Republic by skillful artisans under his direction. Morales will also translate a client’s wishes into a custom designed and crafted fixture.

The collection comprises original designs, pieces inspired by traditional Spanish patterns, as well as whimsical designs like the crab sconce. The collection includes chandeliers, sconces, table lamps, ceiling mounts and pendants, all electrified. A selection of non-electric lighting, including candelabras and candlesticks, sconces, torches, and lanterns, is also available. Because each piece is handcrafted, there will be slight variations in measurements and coloration which make each piece unique.

The copper lighting collection features several series with individual characteristics, each with beautiful cuts that cast interesting highlights and shadows. Two of the most popular are the Oriental, inspired by Chinese fretwork, and the Pinonate which reflects the Spanish influence of the island.

Custom fixtures can be designed using the clients’ own designs or their choice of 27 different patterns (calados in the Dominican Republic) which can be incorporated into the piece.

About Jose I. Morales

Jose I. Morales created the Sculpture Clock in iron, copper, brass, and stainless steel, with knots tied with 1-inch bars. Located in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic’s capital, the monument stands 100 feet tall and weighs 50 tons. Senor Morales has participated in exhibitions and events throughout the world, having achieved awards and recognitions as the prestigious El Arco Europa, La Estrella de Oro, and the World Quality Award. He has been featured House and Garden, New York Magazine, Florida Design, and Southern Accents.
